In observance and celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah – National Nutrition Month, MSCPCR had conducted monitoring visit to Anganwadi Centers from September 15 – 30, 2021 within Aizawl Urban ICDS, Tlangnuam and Lunglei ICDS projects. A total of 11 Anganwadi Centres purposively selected had been visited during the said nutrition month. The monitoring visit found that Anganwadi Centres which had been kept closed though during Covid 19 pandemic had uninterrupted and undisrupted distribution of Take Home Nutrition during the lockdown period to all beneficiaries – children, lactating mothers and pregnant mothers. The monitoring visit cum inspection to Anganwadi Centres was led by honourable Chairperson, Dr. C. Lalsangzuala and was accompanied by hourable members, Pu J. Malsawmzuala Vanchhawng and Dr. Julie Remsangpuii Fambawl. Three technical staff from MSCPCR, along with staff from Aizawl Urban ICDS Project.
The Anganwadi Centres were also inspected using "Anganwadi Centre (AWC) Inspection/Visit Format during Poshan Maah 2021“ developed by NCPCR. Awareness on the importance of Poshan Abhiyan and Poshan Maah had also been made simultaneously during the monitoring visit.
