MSCPCR conducted an official visit to Saitual, Khawzawl and Champhai Districts during 8th - 11th October, 2024. The following officials made visit to DCPUs, Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and District Jails in the said districts:

The primary purpose of the visit is to learn the issues and challenges faced by the DCPUs, CCIs, Child Helpline Workers, and other stakeholders involved in the field of child protection the respective districts. Moreover, the visit was designed to introduce the new Members of the Commission to Govt. officials and various stakeholders in order to address effectively for the successful implementation of children related Acts, Laws and legislations in the districts visited.

 On 08.10.2024 (Tuesday), MSCPCR Team visited and had a brief meeting with the officials and staff of DCPUs, CCIs and Child Helpline of Saitual, Khawzawl and Champhai Districts respectively. On 09.10.2024 (Wednesday), MSCPCR held a meeting with different stakeholders from Champhai District. Pu K. Zorammuana, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Champhai District presided over the meeting attended by DCPO and Staff of DCPU, Champhai District; Chairpersons and Members of CWC, Champhai District; Members of JJB, Champhai District; Chief Medical Officer, Champhai District; Medical Superintendent, Champhai District Hospital; Officer from Office of DEO, Champhai District; President, Sub-Headquarters, YMA and MHIP. The meeting discussed on the current situation, issues and challenges regarding Child Labour, Child Health, Education, etc., with reference to Champhai District. The meeting resolved that the concerned departments shall intimate issues and challenges being faced by various stakeholders to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office who shall take necessary action from thence. MSCPCR team also visited Champhai District Jail to monitor the conditions and facilities provided to children of women prisoners. There were 3 (three) in the Jail at the time of visit. The Commission found the conditions and facilities provided to children satisfactory. On 10.10.2024 (Thursday) MSCPCR Team visited Observation Home, Rose Children’s Home and Genesaret Gospel Children’s Home and met the staff and children.
